This project commissioned by Wandsworth Council to observe the anniversary of the Clapham Junction riots.
The aim of the mural was to not only beautify the damaged area but also to bring together the community in hope and solidarity. A basic framework was built and fitted on the gutted Party Superstore building. A very rough outline of the mural was designed and people were invited to pick up a brush and simply fill in the colours. The organic nature of the design made it possible to improvise on the spot, enabling people of all skill levels and ages to participate.
